QUEBEC — A Quebec town whose mayor was found guilty of sexually assaulting an ex-employee has reached a deal with the woman.
Under terms of the agreement, Caroline Lamarre will be compensated in exchange for agreeing to abandon her efforts to get her job back with the community of Baie-Trinité.
Lamarre has not worked since 2013, while Denis Lejeune is still mayor of the town about 500 kilometres northeast of Quebec City.

The city of Montreal has expanded its free Wi-Fi zone to include the downtown core.
In a partnership with ZAP, formerly named Île sans fil, users can gain a free internet connection by connecting to MTLWiFi on their mobile devices.
The service was previously offered in the Old Port, and is now available in downtown Montreal from Papineau Ave. to Fort St. east-west and Sherbrooke St. to René-Lévesque Blvd. north-south.

Jay-Z brings 4:44 tour to Bell Centre Nov. 21
Jay-Z is bringing his 4:44 tour to Montreal this November.
The three-month tour also includes Canadian dates in Toronto, Vancouver and Edmonton.
Ticket prices for the Nov. 21 Montreal concert range from 52.25 to $222.50 and go on sale July 14 at 10 a.m.

Access ramp closure in Beaconsfield begins July 11
A ramp in Beaconsfield which accesses St-Charles Boulevard between Beaurepaire Drive and Prairie Drive, south of Highway 20, will close July 11 at 9 a.m. and is scheduled to reopen July 14 at noon.
Work is being done to extend and connect water and sewer pipes.
