    To improve communications with families, the Rainbow District School Board has launched the Edsby communications platform for all its schools. In recent weeks, parents/guardians received an email invitation to activate their Edsby account. Parents/guardians who did not receive an email invitation are asked to contact their child’s school to ensure their email address is up to date.     Rainbow District School Board will host a Sunrise Ceremony on Sept. 30 to commemorate the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation and Orange Shirt Day.The ceremony will begin at 6:45 am on the grounds of Lively District Secondary School and is one of a number of similar events planned for Sudbury on Sept. 30. As the sun rises to greet an historic day, people are invited to learn about the legacy of residential schools and their impact on generations of Indigenous children and their families.

    A Massey man has been fined $2,000 for violating Ontario’s deer hunting laws.Timothy Martin pleaded guilty to hunting deer without a licence and using another person’s deer tag. He was fined $2,000.The Ontario Court of Justice heard that on Nov. 5, 2025, Martin was hunting for deer near Massey, west of Sudbury.Martin shot an antlerless deer but was only licenced to hunt antlered deer, the Ministry of Natural Resources said in a release.Martin then invalidated the antlerless deer tag
