SYDNEY, N.S. — Former Team Homan member Joanne Courtney is enjoying the same big-game feelings from the broadcast booth that she did when she was a competitive curler.
She stepped away from the sport two years ago to focus on her family and career. Courtney later joined TSN’s broadcast team at the network’s Season of Champions events.

CHILLIWACK — Firefighters were busy overnight dousing a fire in a fifth-wheel trailer in the 8000 block of Lickman Road. 18 firefighters from Halls 1 and 4 were called to the home at approximately 3 a.m. Saturday (Mar. 23).

Thompson, of Whistler, B.C., earned her sixth victory of the World Cup season Saturday. She defeated France’s Marielle Berger in the big final and finished atop the women’s overall standings for a fourth straight year.

Overnight fire in Chilliwack sends one to hospital
CHILLIWACK — One person was sent to hospital after a fire struck a home in the 45000 block of Wellington Avenue in Chilliwack early Saturday (Mar. 23) morning.
15 firefighters from Fire Halls 1 and 4 were called out by the alarm at 12:30 a.m. They arrived to find the two occupants of the detached home had escaped the fire.
