The amber alert was cancelled at 12:07 p.m. on Wednesday, July 22.

According to a news release from Mission RCMP, crates spilled out of a truck and onto the Murray Street overpass on July 16. The berries caused one motorcycle to “slip-slide” through the mess but no one was injured by the spill.

A young Bigg’s killer whale found itself high and dry after becoming stranded on a Salish Sea beach, roughly 70 kilometres southeast of Greater Victoria.
Members of the Pacific Whale Watch Association spotted the whale, identified as T65B2 ‘Corvus’, south of the border, beached between Smith and Minor islands in the Strait of Juan de Fuca on July 16.

Maple Ridge Mounties say they are working closely with the BC Coroners Service and other support units as they investigate the death of a woman on Monday, July 20.
At around 7:30 a.m., RCMP responded to a report of the deceased individual outside of a residence in the 11800-block of 207 Street in Hammond.
The deceased person is believed to be a 55-year-old woman of no fixed address.Cause of death is currently unknown, said the Maple Ridge RCMP.

A Chilliwack teen who allegedly had a firearm on the SkyTrain was arrested on Saturday (July 18).
The incident happened around 5:25 p.m. when the Vancouver Police Department were called to report from the Nanaimo SkyTrain station of someone with a firearm on the train.

Montrose Properties is planning to appeal a recent B.C. Supreme Court judgment that ruled against the company’s application to reopen the Cowichan Tribes land title case and be added as a party.

BC Hydro to triple size of its public EV charging network by 2035

BC Hydro plans to triple the number of its public electric vehicle charging ports by 2035 through a $700-million investment in 3,500 new charging ports across B.C.
“It will make it one of the largest networks in Canada,” BC Hydro CEO Charlotte Mitha said of the new plan at a Tuesday morning announcement in Richmond.
There are currently 917 BC Hydro charging ports at 190 locations throughout the province.
