Sandra Bullock, caregiver
via laineygossip.com
In celebrity reporting, the phrase “breaks their silence” is overused and often misapplied. They often refer to someone breaking their silence one day after a mega headline/situation. Or use it to describe someone who basically livestreams every day.But in Sandra Bullock’s case right now, everyone talking about her “breaking her silence” is correct. It’s been three years since Sandra’s partner, Bryan Randall, died of ALS. And she has talked about her exp -

The Medusa Case: Georges Laraque Had Warned Lewis le Fou
via dose.ca
I'm not one to watch influencers' streams that go on for hours. Whether they're from Quebec, the U.S., or Europe, it just doesn't appeal to me.
That said, I recognize the buzz they can generate, especially among our young Quebecers. I was talking about this with a reporter from 98.5 FM the other day at the Nutrilait Center, and he made me realize something: for many young people here, these influencers are the only ambassadors of our Quebec culture. It's beautiful and sad at the same time.

Shay Mitchell is among the celebrities having a very Vancouver summer
via vancouversun.com
Shay Mitchell took to Instagram this week to share a glimpse of her summer in the city.“Vancouver you really did that,” the actress and Beis luggage brand founder posted along with a gallery of images showing her soaking up the sun on a boat in the waters around the city. The Pretty Little Liars star, who was born in Ontario but spent much of her childhood in Vancouver, wore a red gingham bikini paired with denim cutoffs and a matching red handkerchief scarf tied on her head in the p -
Blue Jays: Jesus Sanchez Speaks Out | Vladdy in the Minors
via dose.ca
There’s quite a bit to say this afternoon about the Blue Jays.
So let's break it down into a few points to summarize everything that's going on in the Toronto camp.
1. Jesus Sanchez is probably the hottest name in town… but for all the wrong reasons, mind you.
Max Scherzer's anger over his defensive errors has been the talk of the town.
Sanchez himself knows that his two errors aren't worthy of a major league player. He wants to improve.
He said he lost sight of the ball in the glar -
Timothée Chalamet: Duneman and movie concerts
via laineygossip.com
One of the prominent film headlines this week is about Dune: Part 3, opening in four months on December 18, because presales started the other day to see the movie in 70mm and there was so much demand that it crashed ticketing websites.Last summer it was The Odyssey selling out of 70mm screenings an entire year before opening. Now the story is about how people were queuing in person and online for Dune 3, to the point where the CEO of AMC had to release a statement online. We try so hard to be ex -
The CH, a “crap team” in the playoffs, according to Corey Pronman
via dose.ca
Canadiens fans know Corey Pronman as a guy who often bashes the team's young players.
For example, he mentioned Lane Hutson in a recent article, saying that he won't be an NHL star (even though he already is), and that caused quite a stir.
Today, Pronman published a list of the top 100 players and prospects who were selected after the first round of the draft. And Lane Hutson tops that list: perhaps, in Pronman's eyes, putting him in first place would earn him some brownie points with the fans&h -
Concerns for Yvon Lambert: Former CH Player Hospitalized After a Serious Fall
via dose.ca
Sad news.
Former Canadiens player Yvon Lambert had to undergo surgery after suffering a fairly serious fall at a recent party.
He suffered a fracture of the femur… and the hip, as reported by François-David Rouleau of the Journal de Montréal. The article was also published on TVA Sports: Former Canadiens player Yvon Lambert undergoes surgery and is hospitalized after a serious fall: https://t.co/pr23CowjIy

The Sussexes pull a reverse Uno on the UK
via laineygossip.com
We come here for gossip so I don’t want to hear “who cares, they are rich” or “who cares they are royalty” or any of the sort when it comes to Prince Harry and Meghan moving back to the UK. I CARE. The Sussexes are celebrities, the British royals are kind of the OG celebrities, this involves an ancient family business and estrangement (which is the psychological topic of the moment) – so this is not a buffet, it’s a banquet! Now first off, of course we h -
PHOTOS: The Yankees Beat the Orioles Amid Controversy
via dose.ca
The Baltimore Orioles and the New York Yankees were tied at the end of the seventh inning last night (Wednesday) when Pete Alonso appeared to have given his team the lead with a thunderous home run down the left-field line.
The umpires, however, initially called it a foul ball before consulting with each other and reviewing the video.
The delay seemed to last thirty minutes, but it ultimately took five minutes for the on-field call to be upheld.
Judge for yourselves.The Orioles couldn’t be -
Intro for August 20, 2026
via laineygossip.com
Dear Gossips,During the Oscar campaign for Anora, which culminated in a Best Picture win and Best Actress for Mikey Madison, we wrote about how Mikey, who was around 25 years old at the time, was moving on the award circuit the way you might expect for Gen Z – no public personal social media and therefore not much engagement and publicity in the style that you would expect and that we’ve seen from celebrities in her age cohort, or any cohort really. She attended the events that she w -
LJ Mooney in the NHL: “It’s going to be tough for him to become a regular”
via dose.ca
LJ Mooney may not exactly have the build you'd imagine when you think of a future NHL regular.
And that could make it difficult for him to secure a regular spot in the big leagues because of that.
At least that's the impression of Scott Wheeler (The Athletic), who discussed the young forward's chances of establishing himself in the big leagues during a Reddit Q&A session. According to him, it won't necessarily be a walk in the park for the American…
It's true, after all, that players -
Signing Alert: Denver Broncos
via dose.ca
The Denver Broncos have officially announced the signing of Taylor Rapp, a 28-year-old safety who is already well-acquainted with the demands of professional football after several seasons in the NFL.
The former
Buffalo Bills
player
brings his experience to a defense looking to gain depth and consistency.
Rapp, however, is coming off a particularly tumultuous season. With Buffalo, he started only six games due to a lingering knee injury. Despite his limited playing time, the defensive back manag -
Connor McDavid in Montreal: It’s got people talking
via dose.ca
Recently, there has been talk that if Connor McDavid were ever to leave Edmonton, the Canadiens would be a logical destination for him.
Stu Cowan addressed the topic on the Sick Podcast.
His take wasn't that it would definitely happen, but rather that the Habs are in a good position to consider making a move if the door were to eventually open.
And this morning, Arpon Basu (The Athletic) weighed in on the topic.
Basically, in an article where he answers readers' questions, he was asked whether t -
Latest volume in history of Vancouver rock series is a psychedelic flashback to the swinging '60s
via vancouversun.com
After a couple of decades of unearthing gems from Vancouver’s vibrant 1960s music scene, Rob Frith decided to put out a new volume of the acclaimed History of Vancouver Rock & Roll series. But The Beatles got in the way. While doing digital transfers of old Vancouver tapes at broadcaster Larry Hennessey’s home studio, he put on a tape he had had for years, but never listened to, because he didn’t have a reel-to-reel player. It turned out to be a high-quality studio tape of Th -
VIDEO: Max Scherzer Doesn’t Hide His Anger Toward Jesus Sanchez
via dose.ca
I'm sure you already know that Max Scherzer is an intense guy in life. He's not afraid to let his emotions show on the mound.
And that goes for both the positive… and the negative.
He's often snapped at managers—including John Schneider in last year's playoffs—when he wanted to get his way.
But yesterday, it was a teammate who upset him: Jesus Sanchez.
The outfielder, who's not exactly a defensive standout, made a couple of defensive errors yesterday in Tampa Bay… but t -
According to fans, the Canadiens don’t have the best front office in the league
via dose.ca
The Canadiens are in a position to build something really great right now.
Will this lead to a celebration of the franchise's 25th Stanley Cup in the coming years? Only time will tell, of course.
But the potential is definitely there.
On that note, it's worth mentioning that The Athletic asked fans of all 32 teams what they thought of the 32 front offices in the Bettman era. And let's just say that Kent Hughes and Jeff Gorton come out looking good.
Fans (a mix of Canadiens fans and fans of other -

Grant McCagg doesn’t like what he sees in Gleb Pugachyov
via dose.ca
Obviously, we shouldn’t jump to any major conclusions after just a few preseason games.
But so far, Gleb Pugachyov hasn't exactly been delivering the kind of performance Grant McCagg was expecting.
To be honest, he didn't expect to see him move up so quickly to the MHL.
On his HabsCast podcast, McCagg made a point of setting the record straight from the start. It's far too early to call this a bad draft pick or to sound the alarm after just a few games. Certain aspects of the Habs prospect -
Jon Cooper may have one last major challenge ahead of him in the NHL
via dose.ca
Jon Cooper has accomplished just about everything with the Tampa Bay Lightning.
He's won two Stanley Cups—in 2020 and 2021—reached another final, won the Four Nations Tournament with Team Canada, and has long established himself as one of the most respected coaches in the NHL.
But might he eventually be tempted by a completely different challenge?
On the podcast “The Sheet,” Jeff Marek and Greg Wyshynski discussed a particularly intriguing scenario: the possibility of Coo -
Here’s how the Cutter Gauthier situation could benefit the Habs
via dose.ca
The Canadiens still haven’t solved their problem at center.
Since the start of the offseason (and for several years now), there has been constant talk about the need to find a player capable of playing behind Nick Suzuki and alongside Ivan Demidov. So far, Kent Hughes hasn't found the right fit.
A situation completely beyond his control might give him a little help.
As we discussed yesterday on DLC, Cutter Gauthier reportedly turned down a $13 million-per-season offer from the Ducks. Anahe -
Patrik Laine: The door seems to be closing on him with the Islanders
via dose.ca
As of today, Patrik Laine is still without a contract. The Finnish player is looking for a team where he can try to revive his career.
Will he manage to sign a contract before training camp begins? That's the question.
Because it's increasingly looking like Laine might have to settle for a tryout. It's unclear who might offer him one… but we do know that the Islanders considered it over the summer.
Except that this avenue has apparently closed: Stefen Rosner, who covers the team's activit -

Steve Cohen on David Stearns
The baseball GM took too many risks. But he'll stay on, according to the owner. I don't think that's a lie, but who knows.
Steve Cohen was asked what mistakes he thinks David Stearns made this year:

Nick Suzuki: Patrice Bergeron gives him a (big) dose of love
via dose.ca
Nick Suzuki has, more than ever, firmly established himself as one of the best centers in the NHL. The Habs' captain just reached 100 points in a season in which he also won the Selke Trophy and helped his team reach the Eastern Conference Finals.
There's no longer any doubt that he's a top-tier center—just as he was a few years ago.
And it's interesting to hear Patrice Bergeron—a player who's often compared to Suzuki—echo similar sentiments. While attending the Sun Life Pro-Am -
Blue Jays: One of the easiest schedules in the league
via dose.ca
The Blue Jays, quietly, are back in the playoff race.
As of this morning, John Schneider's team is half a game away from a playoff spot. That said, they're also half a game away from the bottom of the division…

August is going really well, and the team is beating tough opponents. The series against Houston, Philadelphia, Boston, and New York are good examples… as is yesterday's game in Tampa Bay.

Alexander Zharovsky: Scouts across the league really like him
via dose.ca
Alexander Zharovsky has been making quite a name for himself over the past 12 months. The young Russian, drafted by the Habs with the 34th overall pick in 2025, scored 16 goals and 42 points in 59 games during his first full season in the KHL.
That was an exceptional haul for a player his age… even if he was also a bit lucky to play for a team that gave him such a big role.
As a result, Zharovsky is now viewed as a top prospect in town. Many see him as part of the Habs' future… but -
The Canadiens will have a new uniform in 2026-27
via dose.ca
Canadians, in general, tend to be pretty conservative when it comes to uniforms. The team has found a formula that works and has stuck with it for decades.
And that's hardly a bad thing—after all, you don't change a winning formula.
But in recent years, we've seen the club wear blue and light blue as part of the Reverse Retro concept. At the time, every team in the league had added a new uniform to its collection—one intended as a tribute to retro uniforms worn by each team.
And now, -

Chris Evans has been very quiet lately, he had three projects in 2025 (I had to look at his IMDb) and nothing for 2026 until Doomsday. Entertainment Weekly has a first look at Sacrifice. I thought it was a bad angle from the Met Gala.
Maybe we don’t need so many first looks. Maybe we don’t need any looks. Maybe we just wait for the trailer.View this post on InstagramA post shared by Filmes & Filmes (@filmesefilmes)

Paul Skenes: The extra rest didn’t help
via dose.ca
This afternoon, Paul Skenes was back on the mound. The pitcher had been given a few extra days of rest following his last start, which took place on August 11.
As a reminder, he had been pulled from that game after just 65 pitches.
So the question was whether the rest would help Skenes… and in the end, it didn't really. He finished his outing with just 4.1 innings pitched and 81 pitches.
During that time, he allowed four hits, four walks (he was struggling with his control), and three ear
