The Winnipeg Blue Bombers will have a major boost on Friday night. After missing the last four games due to injury, quarterback Zach Collaros is set to return to action against the Ottawa Redblacks. The game will air at 8:30 p.m. on RDS2.
The 37-year-old veteran was forced to leave the game on July 5 against the Hamilton Tiger-Cats. Winnipeg won that game 14–13, but Collaros suffered an injury after being sacked by quarterback Reggie Stubblefield in the second quarter.

Dylan Cease: 200 strikeouts for the sixth straight season
via dose.ca
Before signing with Toronto, Dylan Cease had recorded at least 200 strikeouts in five consecutive seasons.
That's one of the main reasons the club gave him $210 million: because, despite the ups and downs, the potential was there.
While the amount seemed high, no one in Toronto is complaining right now. The team can't do without him—he's going to be in the running for the Cy Young Award.
The pitcher admitted, after his start today, that he had rarely improved as much as he did in 2026.

Several CH players were spotted at the LASSO festival
via dose.ca
Kent Hughes and Jeff Gorton have truly succeeded in building a core of very talented young players who should make the Habs a competitive team for many years to come.
However, beyond the talent of this core, the organization has managed to assemble a group of players who seem genuinely eager to play in Montreal and, above all, to play together—even if it means leaving money on the table to do so.
The players spend a lot of time together during the summer, both on and off the ice, and they -

Sad news.
Tommy John, a legendary left-hander whose eponymous elbow surgery has saved countless pitchers' careers since it revived his own in the mid-1970s, died on Saturday. He was 83 years old.https://t.co/6shbvZqcMZ pic.twitter.com/4BIRxRJNk2

Gleb Pugachyov: Here’s why he played one game in the junior league
via dose.ca
Gleb Pugachyov is currently at Torpedo's training camp in the KHL. He could very well make the team, but for now, nothing is certain in his case.
Torpedo Nizhny Novgorod has already played some preseason games. The most recent one was on August 14 against Dynamo Moscow.
Pugachyov is participating in this training camp, and the club will evaluate whether he deserves a spot in the KHL this season.
However, this morning, Dylan Griffing (a scout in Russia) posted a tweet showing Pugachyov scoring an -
A Quebec Referee Takes Center Stage at the Flag Football World Championships
via dose.ca
Quebec is once again well represented on the international flag football scene.
As the 2026 IFAF Flag Football World Championships are currently underway, Catherine Piché is participating in this major competition in a role that highlights her expertise.
The Quebec representative is serving as an international technical official, a role that requires extensive knowledge of the sport, great attention to detail, and a high level of professionalism.
Her presence at this global event is a won -
The Yankees are interested in Teruaki Sato
via dose.ca
Since signing Masahiro Tanaka in January 2014, the New York Yankees have come up empty-handed in the Japanese player market, having either ignored or been turned down by players such as Shohei Ohtani, Yoshinobu Yamamoto, and Munetaka Murakami.
But with a second chance to make amends and get things right, the Yankees need to turn this situation around and end their Japanese drought.
And that's exactly what might happen, as according to a report by Jon Heyman of the New York Post, the Yankees are -
Top Prospects: Grant McCagg Also Ranks Gleb Pugachyov Ahead of Alexander Zharovsky
via dose.ca
Yesterday, NHL.com released a ranking of the Montreal Canadiens' top prospects, and let's just say it caused quite a stir.
Putting Gleb Pugachyov ahead of Alexander Zharovsky clearly surprised people, since Zharovsky is generally considered to have more potential than Pugachyov.
However, this Sunday morning, Grant McCagg also released his own list of the top prospects—excluding goalies, though.
Just like NHL.com, McCagg also ranks Pugachyov ahead of Zharovsky.

Sean McVay Announces His Decision Regarding Aaron Donald
via dose.ca
The suspense surrounding Aaron Donald continues with the Los Angeles Rams. As the legendary defensive player continues to consider the possibility of coming out of retirement, head coach Sean McVay insists he does not want to put any unnecessary pressure on his former player.
Donald, who spent all 10 of his NFL seasons with the Rams before announcing his retirement in 2024, recently resumed training with the organization. At 35, he appears to be seriously considering a return to the field.

Travis Kelce is no longer the same player, according to a Hall of Fame member
via dose.ca
After more than a decade at the top of the NFL, Travis Kelce is embarking on a new chapter in his career with a question that's sure to spark a lot of discussion: Can the legendary Kansas City Chiefs tight end still dominate games the way he used to?
For Hall of Famer Shannon Sharpe, the answer is somewhat nuanced. While he still considers Kelce one of the best players at his position, he believes that his age is now starting to take its toll.
Sharpe, who himself played 14 seasons in the NFL as -
Paul Skenes’ upcoming departure has been postponed
via dose.ca
Paul Skenes isn’t doing badly this year. But let’s just say no one expects him to win the Cy Young Award again.
After a rough start in March and an excellent first half of the season, the pitcher is losing his edge.
Why? Everything suggests it's not just because hitters have adjusted to him—though that's surely part of the equation.
In fact, his loss of velocity shows us that we really need to start worrying about the pitcher. Is he hiding an injury?
But here's another telltale -
BPM Sports: Gilbert Delorme Is No Longer on the Morning Show
via dose.ca
It was recently announced that Renaud Lavoie would no longer be a commentator on BPM Sports.
That alone was a major change for the station.
Yesterday, Maxime Truman announced that all the regular hosts would still be on the air for the 2026–27 season, but that there would likely be some schedule changes.
Now we can clarify things much further thanks to Réjean Tremblay's latest Facebook post.
One of the main changes involves Gilbert Delorme, who will no longer be on the show “L -
Cody Fajardo Dominates Again
via dose.ca
The Edmonton Elks needed a response after two straight losses, and they delivered one in spectacular fashion. On Saturday, the Alberta team gave the Toronto Argonauts no chance, winning the game 42–12.
This victory puts the Elks back on the winning track after suffering a crushing 48–30 loss to the Montreal Alouettes in their last outing.
Edmonton quickly set the pace and never really let Toronto get back into the game. The Elks' offense had an excellent night, with Cody Fajardo once -
Macklin Celebrini’s rookie card: a record-breaking sale for a mind-boggling amount
via dose.ca
Hockey cards and collecting them are a very popular pastime in the sports world and among hockey fans of all kinds.
Many people collect cards of different players from different eras, even going so far as to buy them at quite impressive prices.
To some, it seems crazy to pay that much for them, while for others, it's an integral part of their lives.
Well, for those who don't get it, hold on to your hats, because the sale of Macklin Celebrini's rookie card is going to blow your mind.
That's right -
The original West Coast modern home is for sale in West Vancouver

The Binning House is critically important to Canadian architectural history.“It’s the first West Coast modern house,” says heritage expert Don Luxton. “The DNA of West Coast modernism is that building.”Remarkably, the house in West Vancouver is pretty much the same as when it was built, save for a modern kitchen and bathrooms. After a multi-year restoration, it has gone up for sale for $5.25 million.Located on Mathers Crescent near Dundarave, it was built in 1941-4 -
Players are criticizing the new stadium in Buffalo
via dose.ca
Buffalo's new Highmark Stadium officially hosted its first NFL football game on Saturday, as the Bills hosted the Carolina Panthers in a preseason matchup.
After more than half a century at the old stadium, the Bills organization is now embarking on a new era at its new home, located just across the street. But right from this first game, one specific detail caught the players' attention: the condition of the natural grass field.
The new stadium does indeed feature a natural grass surface— -
The worst-case scenario has been confirmed for Marcus Mariota
via dose.ca
The Washington Commanders will have to cope with a significant absence over the next few weeks. Quarterback Marcus Mariota has suffered a knee injury that is expected to keep him out of the team's remaining preseason games.
According to a report by ESPN on Sunday, Mariota has suffered a medial collateral ligament (MCL) sprain. The injury occurred Friday night during the preseason game against the Miami Dolphins under rather unusual circumstances.
The veteran had time to participate in only four -
A Successful MLB Debut for Ricky Tiedemann
via dose.ca
We weren't expecting him anymore, but he had been waiting for this moment for a very long time. We're talking, of course, about the Toronto Blue Jays' prospect, Ricky Tiedemann, who should have been part of the Blue Jays' starting rotation a long time ago but has had to battle injuries that kept him off the field.
Finally, the 23-year-old got his first chance in the majors yesterday (Saturday) against the New York Yankees at Rogers Centre—though it came from the bullpen.

Kirill Marchenko’s agent continues to string Montreal fans along
via dose.ca
Since the start of summer, Montreal Canadiens fans have been waiting for management to make a big move—a trade that would significantly improve the team.
It's almost the end of August, and Kent Hughes still hasn't pulled off that much-anticipated major trade—which, some might argue, is perhaps for the best.
Still, in the absence of an actual trade, we've been treated to countless rumors surrounding the Habs.
The ones that have garnered the most attention for most of the offseason are -
Brad Marchand announces that he underwent major surgery that he had been trying to avoid
via dose.ca
The 2026–2027 National Hockey League season is fast approaching, with just about 40 days to go until the NHL's opening night.
All 32 teams are already preparing for the new season, hoping to have all their players back in excellent health and physical condition, free of any injuries.
Unfortunately for some teams, they'll have to start training camp with certain players who are injured or not yet at 100% due to injuries from last season or sustained this summer.

Joshua Baez has been acting like Barry Bonds
via dose.ca
History isn't rewritten every day, but yesterday, a rookie outfielder for the St. Louis Cardinals (Joshua Baez) did just that by hitting three home runs in his first three at-bats in the majors.
A feat that had never been accomplished before the game between the Cards and the Cubs in Chicago.
The 23-year-old outfielder hit the first pitch he saw from Matthew Boyd over the fences at Wrigley Field, and that was just the beginning of a historic day. Baez did it two more times, both times off Boyd. -
A former Pro Bowl player comes out of retirement to join the Browns
via dose.ca
The Cleveland Browns appear to be on the verge of finalizing a deal with a familiar face.
According to reports by Mary Kay Cabot, the Ohio-based team is expected to sign veteran Za’Darius Smith, who will make a return to the NFL after announcing his retirement last season.
Smith, 33, surprised the football world by ending his career in October 2025 while playing for the Philadelphia Eagles. He had played in only five games with the team before making that decision.

Ivan Demidov ranks among the NHL’s elite in terms of average shot speed
via dose.ca
We all fell in love with Ivan Demidov the moment he was drafted by the Montreal Canadiens with the 5th overall pick in 2024.
Fans were already aware of Demidov's superstar potential back then, which explains why the flight to Montreal was so closely followed—and why so many #93 jerseys sold out so quickly.
Not everyone gets that kind of treatment, and every fan knows that the young Russian is a unique and special talent.
After a full rookie season in the NHL, there are even more reasons to -

Canada will have two flag football teams at the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles.
Following the women's team's qualification, the men's team also secured its spot on Sunday thanks to a spectacular victory at the World Championship held in Düsseldorf, Germany.

As we know, the Canadiens have an excellent young core. These players are under long-term contracts and will strive, over the next few years, to bring the Stanley Cup back to Montreal.
But one thing is clear: no matter what happens, the Habs will be a joy to watch. The young players are brimming with talent, and we saw last year that they're capable of great things on the ice.
And that's not even counting the fact that many of them are likely to improve as they gain more experience.

Three Questions to Ask About the Canadiens’ Top 6
via dose.ca
This summer, the Canadiens didn’t make any moves. You already knew that.
Since the Canadiens haven't added anyone and Michael Hage won't be arriving in town for the start of next season, the solutions lie within the organization.
But questions remain. Here are three of them.
Will Juraj Slafkovsky lead his line?
Last year, we saw that Slaf was able to succeed alongside Nick Suzuki and Cole Caufield. But more importantly, we saw that the Slovakian was capable of taking control of his line.

Shohei Ohtani Offers Financial Aid to Canada
via dose.ca
Almost three years ago, Shohei Ohtani was being courted by the Blue Jays. Unsurprisingly, he ultimately chose to sign with the Dodgers.
And this was despite the fact that, for a few minutes, everyone thought he had chosen the Blue Jays. #HeWasOnAPlane
I don't think he regrets his decision, having won two rings (including one against Toronto) with the Los Angeles Dodgers since then.
Because he's so good, Ohtani gets booed in Toronto. But that's all part of the game.
That doesn't stop him, however -
Michael Hage at center in the NHL: His coach has no doubts
via dose.ca
Ever since the CH drafted Michael Hage in 2024, many people have viewed him as the team's future second-line center. There's a need to be filled in the city, and we know Hage has the talent to hold his own on a top-6 line.
And since he's been playing center for the past few years, he's (logically) seen as a candidate.
That said, doubts remain about whether he'll stay at center at the pro level. He isn't particularly dominant in the faceoff circle, and some wonder if he's better suited to play wi -

Top 15 CH Prospects: Positions 9 through 7
via dose.ca
We left off last week with the trio of Tim Runtso, Florian Xhekaj, and Adam Engstrom.
No stars—or even impact players—in sight here. At best, they're solid role players who could have a decent career spanning a few hundred NHL games.
The trio we're featuring this week seems capable of reaching greater heights—at least in theory. We're fairly confident that at least one of them could eventually become an impact player—that is, a player above the NHL average.9. Bryce Pickfo
