Over the summer, there were some changes in the Canadiens' player development department. The club saw Rob Ramage, who served as director of player development, retire.
He played a key role, overseeing the organization's prospects.
The question at the time was who would replace Ramage. The Canadiens haven't announced any hires or promotions since then… but one might wonder if Francis Bouillon, though it hasn't been announced (yet?), has been promoted.
It's worth noting that Bouillon, who

Cutter Gauthier (finally) signs a contract with the Ducks
via dose.ca
It's (finally) settled.
After months of negotiations, the Anaheim Ducks have finally reached an agreement with Cutter Gauthier. He had still not signed a contract for the upcoming season.
It was well known that the forward, who couldn't sign a hostile offer, was asking for a lot. He wanted a big salary… and he's just signed a nice deal.
We're talking about a six-year contract that will pay him $13.5 million per year. The total value is therefore $81 million.
The Ducks made the announcemen -
Alex Newhook: Kent Hughes selected him for his core group
via dose.ca
The signing of forward Alex Newhook really came out of nowhere earlier this evening.
We hadn't even recovered from the discussions surrounding Arber Xhekaj's signing when the Montreal Canadiens threw another curveball with Newhook's contract extension.
The Habs' No. 15 is under contract for four more seasons at $4.5 million per year, starting after the 2026–2027 season.
It's an excellent deal for the Habs, as Kent Hughes has once again proven himself a genius by keeping his players in Mont -
AAA: Trey Yesavage didn’t finish the first inning
via dose.ca
Today, Trey Yesavage pitched in the AAA. The goal? For him to feel good over the next few days so he can pitch in the Majors next Monday.
We'll see how things play out in due time.
The problem? Yesavage, who was supposed to throw more than 40 pitches with the Bisons, was unable to get through the first inning in Buffalo.
He threw 34 pitches over 0.2 innings in his rehab start and was pulled to avoid throwing too many pitches in a single inning. An earned run was charged to his record.

Kirill Marchenko’s agent hints that big news is coming
via dose.ca
The Canadiens have had a busy day so far. Earlier today, the team reached agreements with Arber Xhekaj and Alex Newhook.
The former needed a contract for the 2026–27 season, while the latter decided to extend his stay in the city through 2031.
The Habs, in fact, have plenty of reasons to be satisfied with their day. But in the last few minutes, Kirill Marchenko's agent, Dan Milstein, sparked some buzz on X.
Milstein shared a GIF showing a teddy bear having its eyes gouged out. And usually, -
Arber Xhekaj: Clearly a last-chance contract
via dose.ca
On the eve of the Montreal Canadiens' official training camp opening, the team decided to announce three major pieces of news in just one hour.
Now that the dust is slowly settling, it's time to break it all down in order, starting with Arber Xhekaj.
What kicked off this intense hour for the Habs was the announcement of the long-awaited new contract for Montreal's “Sheriff.”
However, it's not quite the contract we expected for #72, as he agreed to the terms of a one-year deal worth $ -

On September 12, Dylan Cease was available to pitch. But John Schneider didn’t call on him.
Instead, Cease pitched on September 13.
On September 18, Dylan Cease will be available to pitch. But once again, the plan is not to have him pitch on five days' rest.
John Schneider announced that his pitcher is instead scheduled to start Saturday's game (September 19) in Texas.
Even though the team has only four starting pitchers, it has still chosen to have Dylan Cease (and Jose Soriano, too) pitc -

RUMOR: Patrik Laine is reportedly about to sign a contract
via dose.caIt's September 15, and Patrik Laine still doesn't have a team lined up for the upcoming NHL season.
But things could change quickly.
According to the Urheilucast podcast—which is very well-known in Finland—Laine is reportedly on the verge of signing a contract.
In the podcast episode, Esko Seppänen (the host) mentions that Laine met with the Anaheim Ducks. He goes on to say that Laine will sign a contract with the Ducks once the Cutter Gauthier situation is resolved in Californi -
The impact of Chris Kreider on the power play is underestimated
via dose.ca
Do you like Chris Kreider’s signature?
As for me, I don't just like it—I love it.
Montreal was missing that kind of player, after all—a guy with a solid build, who's willing to get in the thick of the action, who knows how to score goals, and who can also play on the top six.
Kreider will bring experience to the team, but we also have to talk about how important he'll be on the power play. Dany Dubé (98.5 FM) thinks the second unit is going to be better… and he's -
Edwin Diaz Left Out of the Playoffs: The Dodgers Are Considering It
via dose.ca
Looking ahead to the 2025 season, the Dodgers signed Tanner Scott to be the team's closer. It didn't really work out.
In the playoffs, it was actually Roki Sasaki who was the go-to guy in the ninth inning.
Then, looking ahead to the 2026 season, the Dodgers decided to go all out by signing none other than Edwin Diaz.
And that worked out even worse than Scott.
Between injuries and poor performances, Diaz hasn't been able to make a positive impact for the Dodgers.
Even now, as he pitches in Triple -

Josh Allen is tired of artificial turf

Josh Allen has never hidden his preference for natural grass, and the Buffalo Bills quarterback has once again highlighted just how much artificial turf has shaped his NFL experience.

The CH might have a hard time keeping Josh Anderson
via dose.ca
Josh Anderson is an important player for the Canadiens. He's one of the top leaders in the team's locker room, and it's no coincidence that he's been named assistant to captain Nick Suzuki for the upcoming season.
But even though we love “Big Josh”… his situation could get complicated in Montreal.
Here's what you need to know: Anderson has just entered the final year of his contract. He'll be a free agent as of July 1 if he hasn't signed a new contract by then. And speaking of -

If I’m honest with myself, I never stood a chance. There are always a few dresses, right when a carpet begins, that make you despair for any fashion to come. The Montreal Alouettes release a quarterback
via dose.ca
The Montreal Alouettes made a roster move on Tuesday, announcing the release of American quarterback Anthony Brown Jr.
