Alexium International has made its microencapsulated phase change material solutions available to US data center developers, contractors and engineering firms as thermal buffers integrated into walls, ceilings and modular panels.
The company is also opening a co-development program for PCM thermal storage, targeting ride-through and peak-load needs at AI-era facilities.

Verbio has commissioned a large-scale ethenolysis plant in Bitterfeld, Germany, after investing nearly €100 million (~$112 million) to enter bio-based chemicals.
The rapeseed methyl ester-based facility can produce up to 60,000 tonnes a year for lubricants, detergents, cleaning products and plastics.
Ramp-up will be staged as customers qualify the chemicals for their applications. -

Voestalpine and VERBUND have expanded the H2FUTURE green hydrogen pilot at Linz to cover compression, purification, storage, loading and use.
The €16.4 million (~$18.4 million) project adds five storage tanks and can compress hydrogen to up to 500 bar for trailers.
First research results are expected by the end of 2026; the project runs to December 2030 with Austrian federal funding. -
World Bank lifts Vietnam GDP forecast to 7.4%
World Bank has raised Vietnam’s 2026 GDP growth forecast to 7.4 per cent, the highest in East Asia and Pacific and 1.1 points above April.

Pakistan exports rise 10.8%: Can energy costs cap textile recovery?
Pakistan’s merchandise exports rose 10.84 per cent to $8.42 billion in Q1 FY2026-27, but textiles and apparel grew by about 6 per cent.
July-August textile exports increased 5.55 per cent to $3.379 billion, led by ready-made garments, knitwear and cotton yarn.

US' Solenis relocates global pulp innovation centre to Brazil
Solenis has moved its Pulp Center of Excellence from the US to a 500-square-metre facility in Paulínia, Brazil, to place pulp R&D nearer Latin America.
The centre sits alongside the Paulínia Technology Center and will develop pulp solutions across wood handling, cooking, bleaching and refining.
Current work includes pitch control, monitoring, cooking additives and silicone-free defoamers. -
UAE, Egypt renew $1.36 bn currency swap for five years
The UAE and Egypt renewed a five-year currency swap valued at AED 5 billion (~$1.36 billion), equivalent to EGP 69 billion (~$1.32 billion).

Austria’s apparel imports shift towards Asia before EU parcel duty
Austria’s apparel imports rose nearly 2 per cent to $3.785 billion in January–June 2026, with Asia-Pacific shipments up 104 per cent to $788.673 million.
Europe remained the top source at $2.817 billion, but its share fell to 74.43 per cent from 86.56 per cent as imports declined by about 12 per cent.

New Nanning-Can Tho service strengthens China-Vietnam cargo link
Can Tho Port JSC, Vietnam National Shipping Lines and Beibu Gulf Port Group welcomed the first vessel on a direct Nanning-Can Tho container service on September 24.
The route gives Mekong Delta and southwestern China shippers another river-sea freight corridor.
The service is planned twice monthly, with transit of about seven days and capacity of 500 TEUs. -
EU's maritime transport leads goods trade by volume in 2025

Bangladesh extends loan relief deadline for raw jute exporters
Bangladesh Bank has given raw jute exporters until September 30, 2026 to seek restructuring of classified loans with a 2 per cent down payment.
Banks have until December 31, 2026 to settle applications under unchanged BRPD circular terms.
The move gives distressed jute shippers more time to regularise accounts amid sector-specific financial pressures.
