B.C. man turns home into museum of replica masterpieces
via globalnews.caThere’s just one museum you need to visit to see the greatest works of art. It’s the home of a B.C. man who has mastered painting replicas of masterpieces. As Robin Gill reports, it’s hard to tell the difference between the self-taught painter’s copies and the real ones. -
Fortis B.C. upgrades will require road closures in Burnaby this week
via vancouversun.comIf your morning commute takes you through Burnaby, you’ll need a bit of extra patience this week.
Crews have started tearing up sections of Lougheed Highway to complete upgrades on a Fortis B.C. natural gas line. One eastbound and one westbound lane on Lougheed, between Kensington and Bainbridge avenues, were closed beginning Saturday.

via vancouversun.comAfter nearly two decades of a continuing access-to-justice crisis, the Law Society of B.C. remains divided on a solution and can’t agree on even token measures.
The benchers have sent back for further study a seven-year-old proposal to allow licensed paralegals to offer cheaper legal services and rejected a suggestion to give a nominal educational credit to lawyers for doing charity work.
“In that light and in my view, denying continuing professional development (CPD) credit for what -

“It’s pretty crazy,” he said. “There’s literally people all over the world doing bottle digging, from Russia to the States to Japan. I’m talking to people all over the world now that do this.”
The quick response may be due to -

Rob Shaw: Andrew Wilkinson's rental comments damage B.C. Liberal credibility
via vancouversun.comVICTORIA — Andrew Wilkinson has spent his first year as B.C. Liberal leader trying to overhaul a tired party that’s drowning under the weight of scandals that piled up over 16 years in power.
But all it takes is one misstep to wash out months of progress. Or, in the case of Wilkinson, 22 seconds during a recent budget speech in the legislature to seriously undermine the work he’s done presenting a fresh face for the party.
