Mike Babins would prefer not to call it a Christmas gift because it came on the back of a lot of hard work and sacrifice.
But it just so happened that it was on Christmas Eve when Babins learned the province intended to green light the Evergreen Cannabis Society, a move that would make the shop he co-owns with his wife Maria Petrucci Vancouver’s first licensed non-medical retail cannabis store.
Their story offers one of the first glimpses into the post-legalization licensing process in B.C
