Makeover: Side-sweeping fringe provides a whole new look
via vancouversun.comKeira Roets runs her own recruitment company and wanted to update her outgrown blonde balayage.
Keira has medium textured and naturally wavy hair. It was previously highlighted with an ombre finish. Her natural colour is dark brown so to blend out her colour, I created a smoky root smudge colour design. I started by applying weave foil highlights around her face and throughout her hair. I also incorporated panels of dark brown foils to add depth and dimension. I then applied a demi-permanent col -

Spacious Port Moody townhomes inspired by natural setting

A B.C. college instructor's novel life of prison, addiction and recovery
via vancouversun.comLate one night in June 1988, Geri Bemister smashed in the door of a Victoria pharmacy with a hammer and bolt cutters, grabbed the drugs she knew she could sell, and ran.
She was 19, an alcoholic, addict and already entrenched with criminals when that smash-and-grab landed her in a federal prison. It only increased her street credibility and fuelled her fascination with the gang lifestyle. That, in turn, fuelled her addiction, which nearly claimed her life at 35.
At that point, her family interve -
