Former Grizzlies forward Shareef Abdur-Rahim has had quite the post-playing career.
He’s worked in front offices and courtside. He went back to university after retiring as a player, earning a degree in sociology with a 3.8 grade-point average. Then he went and earned an MBA.
And he’s worked for the National Basketball Association.
Now he’s going to run a whole league. Tuesday, the NBA announced the former Grizzlies star is taking over as president of the G League.

The storm has also led to the cancellation of several B.C. Ferries northern Gulf Islands sailings.
At around 11:30 a.m., BC Ferries spokeswoman Astrid Braunschmidt said the winds appeared to be easing a bit, but the Spirit of British Columbia was still running about an hour behind schedule.

Owners of emaciated B.C. dog charged with animal cruelty

Cedric the boxer was found suffering from extreme malnutrition and rescued by the BC SPCA in January.
Amy Hui-Yu Lin and Glenn Mislang each face charges under the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act.
