Style Q&A: Nick Steward's Gallivant Perfume isn't your average scent story

via vancouversun.comMIDNIGHT OIL: Open a $65 stainless-steel bottle of Domenica Fiore Novello di Notte extra-virgin olive oil and its 500-ml contents should blink. That’s because three varieties of olives therein were harvested from an Italian hillside in the cool of night, promptly cold-pressed, and kept in the dark ever since.
Domenica Fiore president Anna Wallner and owner Frank Giustra cooked Italian meatballs at a 2017 benefit for the B.C. Cancer Foundation.
“Olive oil’s big enemy is light,&r -

via vancouversun.comIt was 25 years ago that the Nobel committee named Michael Smith of UBC as the winner in chemistry for his work in site-directed mutagenesis. In other words, making specific changes to the DNA sequence of a gene – a process that he developed even before the human genome was fully mapped.
He was a remarkable scientist and a remarkable man who went to great lengths in attracting research talent to B.C. He donated his entire prize money to research and thus played a vital role -

The increase can be blamed on oversized blow-up seasonal yard art, Clark Griswold and possibly people replacing incandescent strands with a larger number of LED light strings, says B.C. Hydro.
And about one-third of hydro users are sticking with the old-fashioned incandescent lights to decorate -
Canucks Post Game: Green lauds the effort, Hutton gets stung, Reeves’ ‘dirty’ hit grilled
via theprovince.comPoints to ponder as a shorthanded goal and a brutal hit that injured Alex Edler stole the thunder from Brock Boeser’s two-goal outing and a monster effort from Bo Horvat in a 4-3 loss to the Golden Knights on Thursday at Rogers Arena:
GREEN: Lots to like in ‘disheartening’ loss

Frustration is a word that doesn’t even begin to describe the mood in the Canucks’ room anymore.
They knew going into this season that they were mostly focused on entertaining. There would be tough losses, no doubt. There would be games where, really, they didn’t have a chance.
But it wasn’t going to be like this.
After a fun, fine and promising
