via vancouversun.comRecreational marijuana has been legal for nearly a month in Canada, but a new poll suggests Canadians remain divided on whether 18 is an appropriate minimum age.
The Angus Reid Institute poll found that three-quarters of those surveyed think the minimum age to buy weed should be raised.
The age of 21 appears to be a dividing point for Canada, according to the poll.

The monthly figures also show a marked increase in fatalities from a year ago, when 93 people overdosed in the province.

Transit ridership up in B.C., says Canadian Urban Transit Association

The association said, in a report released Wednesday, that ridership is up by 1.5 per cent, or about 30 million trips, across Canada, the first increase since 2014.
In B.C., the association says there were 298.4 million trips on transit in 2017, up from 283.2 million in 2016.

Manager appointed as Surrey works to remove RCMP, launch municipal force

A news release from the city says Terry Waterhouse has been appointed as the general manager of policing transition.
He is the former general manager of public safety for Surrey.
