  A 56-year-old former Port Coquitlam city worker has been charged with stealing copper piping from the public works department.
  Coquitlam RCMP Cpl. Michael McLaughlin says police began their investigation on July 13 after the City of Port Coquitlam complained that supplies of copper piping were being sold for scrap metal by city workers. The city alleged that workers were then keeping proceeds for themselves.

  A dead cat found strapped to a swing in a Maple Ridge park last month died from a predator attack, according to the B.C. SPCA.
  The cat was found in Cook Park on Oct. 26.
