The RCMP’s South District major-crimes unit is investigating the “suspicious death” of a 71-year-old man whose body was found near Lillooet on Saturday.
The body was discovered by Mounties at 1:36 p.m. on a remote road outside of Seton Portage, a rural community and historic provincial park about 25 kilometres west of Lillooet.
RCMP spokeswoman Cpl. Madonna Saunderson says Lillooet RCMP were responding to a report of a kidnapping and suspicious death.

Fire crews were called to a two-alarm blaze at a two-storey, mixed-used commercial/residential building at 1:15 a.m. in the 12500-block of 110th Avenue.
