Each year, Canadians spend 300 more hours at work than people in Germany, the Netherlands and Norway. But are we really more productive?
A UBC researcher believes it’s time to challenge the concept of the 40-hour work week.
“Why do we define full-time hours the way we do?” asked Paul Kershaw, a professor at UBC’s School of Population and Public Health. “Is there a good reason why we work 300 hours more?”
