Ready to bring home the bacon from Chilliwack Fair's first Donut Dash
via vancouversun.comThese are the so-called (hot) dog days of summer, where balmy temps, barbecues, beverages and beaches make it much tougher for weekend warriors to think about full-throttle training.
Throw in air quality warnings and pesky smoke and you get a concoction for huddling close to the AC and hammock.
But add donuts and beer to a morning race? Well, now you’re talking about extra motivation to lace up and move. Happy glaze are here, indeed!

Letters to The Province, July 30, 2018: Why was woman in donation bin in the first place?
via theprovince.comAlthough it is terrible that a woman died in a donation bin, one can only wonder why she was in the bin in the first place. Are we so dumbed down these days that there need to be signs on these bins saying, “Do not enter” or “Do not crawl into this bin to sleep?”
Common sense would deem this dangerous, if not stupid. The only other reason someone would crawl into a bin is to steal. But if she were that needy she would have been able to benefit from the bin’s content -
