  A woman was found dead along the Coquihalla Highway Sunday.
  Merritt RCMP attended a motor vehicle collision near Mine Creek Road and Highway 5 about 20 minutes south of Merritt.
  The collision caused the highway to be closed to northbound traffic for a period of time.
  During that time, a motorist got out of his vehicle to stretch his legs when he discovered a dead woman on the side of the road, said Sgt. Lorne Wood.

  A total of 1,556 licenses have been issued by the city of Vancouver to short-term rental operators, according to the latest data.
  The figures illustrate the city’s ongoing efforts to enforce regulations, introduced earlier this year, surrounding Airbnb, VRBO and other short-term home-sharing platforms.
