B.C. to lower maximum fee for borrowing payday loans
via vancouversun.comThe provincial government announced on Monday a series of measures to tighten rules on payday-lending practices, which includes reducing the maximum fee lenders can charge.
As of Sept. 1st, payday lenders will only be able to charge $15 for every $100 borrowed, matching Ontario’s maximum fee, which was lowered back in January. B.C.’s current maximum rate sits at $17.

Horse euthanized following collision with car in Maple Ridge
via theprovince.comA horse in Maple Ridge has been euthanized following a collision with a car on Friday afternoon.
Around 3:40 p.m. Friday, Ridge Meadows RCMP were called to the 22000 block of 132 Avenue where a horse was stuck in a ditch.
The horse had escaped its holding area and jumped out from a driveway and into traffic. An eastbound vehicle hit the animal, causing injury to its legs and sending the animal into the ditch.
The driver pulled over and called police.
