  UPDATE: Thomas Brydges, a 73-year-old man wanted on a Canada-wide warrant, has been arrested in Oliver.
  Langley Mounties were searching for Brydges in connection with the attempted murder of two Langley residents in Aldergrove on Monday.
  RCMP allege Brydges severely injured a man and a woman at a trailer park in Aldergrove. The woman remains in critical condition while the man is expected to be released from hospital today.
  The 73-year-old was also wanted on a Canada-wide warrant issue

  A man is recovering in hospital after nearly severing his own arm during a robbery attempt at a Nanaimo gas station.
  It happened at around 5:40 p.m. on Saturday.
  Nanaimo RCMP say the man entered the Petro-Canada gas station, pushed aside the clerk and grabbed the cash till before running for the exit.
  Police say the man, who appeared to be under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol, ran into the glass door on the way out. In response, he threw the till at the door and punched it before leaving.
