Vancouver police investigating after early morning crash kills pedestrian
via theprovince.comA 25-year-old Vancouver man has died after he was hit by a vehicle early Sunday morning on Cambie Street.
Around 3 a.m. Sunday, police were called to Cambie Street between 19th and 20th Avenue for the report of a crash. The 25-year-old was hit by a northbound blue SUV and was taken to hospital but did not survive.
The driver of the SUV, a 39-year-old Richmond woman, was not injured and is cooperating with police. Investigators say impairment is not a factor.

One dead after train hits pedestrians at Chilliwack rail crossing

Chilliwack RCMP were called to the scene around 5:30 p.m. when a westbound train hit two people in the 9000-block of Broadway Street.
When officers arrived they found one person dead and a second who was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, said RCMP Cpl. Mike Rail in a release.

B.C. wildfires: Kelowna's Mission Hill Winery evacuated due to grass fire
via vancouversun.comWest Kelowna’s Mission Hill Winery was evacuated Saturday due to a grass fire burning nearby.
According to reports, the fire started at about 7:15 p.m. at the base of Mount Boucherie before winds blew the blaze south towards the winery.
Close to 50 homes near the winery have also been evacuated as a precaution, as winds continue to fan the flames.
It remains unclear what caused the fire.
