A 70-year-old woman is in critical condition following a collision in south Surrey on Wednesday afternoon.
According to Surrey RCMP, the collision took place around 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the intersection of Southmere Crescent and Martin Drive.
The woman was crossing the intersection when she was struck by an eastbound vehicle making a left turn. Police said the driver remained at the scene to assist.
The woman was taken to hospital by air ambulance and remains in critical condition, said Cpl. E

The blaze broke out shortly after 1 a.m. at one unit in the complex at 12950 80th Avenue and quickly spread to a neighbouring business.
Dozens of firefighters worked through the morning to put out the fire, which Surrey assistant fire chief Jason Cairney said had engulfed the first business, and partly damaged the second one.
He said investigators don’t yet know the cause of the fire.
