via theprovince.comThe world has seen a plethora of “experts” providing nutritional advice that sounds definitive and evidence-based. Many of us have lived through all the recommendations: low fat then high fat; salt is a problem, then salt is no problem; eggs are good, then they are bad; butter is very bad, margarine is good, then butter is good again; high carbs, then no carbs — and so on.
This befuddlement has led both health care professionals and members of the public to make recommendations -

Katsantonis the pick of the litter in T-birds’ road win over Bisons
via theprovince.comWINNIPEG — Stavros Katsantonis had as many receptions as any of the Manitoba Bisons’ top receivers.
Unfortunately for them, he plays for UBC.
The T-Birds defensive back picked off Bisons quarterback Des Catellier three times in Saturday’s 17-16 road win at Investors Group Field, including a game-sealing interception with just over three minutes left. No Bisons receiver had more than three catches.
“Our defence was very good today, especially our secondary which was t -
Ignoring wild weather to make big splash in Cunningham seawall race
via vancouversun.comBradley Cuzen and Jeannine Avelino, seasoned runners, bloggers and respected, awesome people on the B.C. road racing circuit, rolled their eyes early Saturday morning when they spotted me at Stanley Park.
Sure they were trying to stay warm and dry near the Second Beach concession stand in their matching BibRave shirts, smiles and hats — and other “twin” gear that allegedly makes them run further, faster and easier than normal people (not bitter) — but they couldn’t -

Fright, not terror, is the goal of Halloween attractions
via vancouversun.comScott Pasternak wants to scare you. He remembers his first night of terror at a haunted house when he was a kid — the cavernous darkness, the shadowy figures, the people running, their screams, his own.
He was spooked and he loved it.
