West Coast Express train blocked from Coquitlam stop by bear
via vancouversun.comThe West Coast Express’ Train 5 didn’t make its stop at Coquitlam Station during this morning’s commute due to bears in the area, according to a tweet from TransLink customer service.
Jut after 8 a.m., TransLink sent out the notice via social media, that the train was “unable to service the platform” at Coquitlam Central station, a key station on the commuter link into Vancouver, due to bears in the area. TransLink wasn’t immediately available to comment.

RCMP in B.C. say man who vanished in Okanagan Lake has been found alive and well
via vancouversun.comVERNON — A man has been found safe after police feared he might have drowned when he jumped into Okanagan Lake near Vernon.
RCMP Cpl. Dan Moskaluk says rescuers searched the north end of the lake over the weekend after officers investigating reports of a prowler saw someone jump into the water.
It appeared the person never resurfaced.
Moskaluk says police have since learned the 38-year-old man was able to swim across the lake to another community.

Kamloops man fights to prove he's alive after bureaucratic error declares him dead

Bryan Kupiak, who is 65 and from Kamloops, is healthy but says somehow his social insurance number was substituted for his mother’s after she died in September.

The increase represented a five-per-cent hike from the previous month and a 15.8-per-cent jump over October 2016. The asking price for a two-bedroom apartment in Vancouver has also gone up to $3,200 a month, a 1.3-per-cent increase from September and a 14.3-per-cent increase from October last year.
