VICTORIA — B.C.’s new NDP government has followed through with a campaign promise to send the controversial Site C hydroelectric dam project to an independent review.
Energy Minister Michelle Mungall made the announcement at the legislature Wednesday. The review will start Aug. 9.
“Rather than questioning whether or not the project should have started, the review will focus on looking forward,” said Mungall.

Salish Raven to go into service early on Southern Gulf Islands ferry run
via vancouversun.comB.C. Ferries’ new Salish Raven will sail into service Thursday, a few months ahead of schedule, to replace the Queen of Nanaimo, which is under repair for the second time in recent weeks.
The 53-year-old Queen of Nanaimo, set to be retired from the fleet in the fall, has a propeller problem that engineers are trying to diagnose and repair.
