OAKVILLE, Ont. — When Adam Hadwin and Nick Taylor begin the opening round of the RBC Canadian Open on Thursday afternoon, it’s going to feel more like a trip down memory lane than a national championship on the PGA Tour.
They’re paired up in the first round of a tournament for the first time since their teenage years, when they sometimes played together at Ledgeview Golf and Country Club. Just six months apart in age, Hadwin and Taylor grew up together in A

Pearson embraces bulldog mentality as he unleashes heat for Canadians
via theprovince.comNate Pearson is a hard-throwing throwback.
The Vancouver Canadians’ right-hander, a first-round pick of the Toronto Blue Jays in June’s draft, had the Salem-Keizer, Ore., crowd buzzing Sunday when he clocked 100 miles per hour three times in his two-inning Northwest League pitching debut.
It’s natural to make comparisons with high-end prospects like that. For instance, you could link Pearson with New York Mets’ fireballer Noah Syndergaard, especially considering he also d -

The solo pop star is a stadium rarity. Obvious reasons exist for this: Arenas are large, impersonal coliseums designed for the modern equivalent of gladiatorial events — sports.
Recognizing this, bands from Pink Floyd and The Rolling Stones to U2 have made mega productions a part of their concert experiences because a band and a couple of lights just doesn’t cut it in huge venues. Ren -

NBA commish says expansion is 'inevitable'; Seattle tops the list
via vancouversun.comBy Matt Bonesteel
Tim Sullivan of the Louisville Courier-Journal wrote a story earlier this year about that city’s hopes for an NBA expansion team, a dream that at the time seemed a bit far-fetched considering an NBA spokesman’s response to Sullivan’s questions about whether the league was looking to go increase in size from the 30 teams it has now.
“We have no plans for expansion at this time,” the league’s Mike Bass told Sullivan, “and there is no -
