The need for Swede: Don’t count on the Sedins going anywhere soon
via theprovince.com
The Sedins were drafted 18 years ago, but are currently as important to the future of the Vancouver Canucks as they’ve ever been.
Suddenly, what the soon-to-be 37-year-old brothers plan to do next year and beyond seems really important.
The Canucks did something this weekend they almost never do. With their first pick, they took the forward, in Elias Pettersson, who had the most offensive upside on the board.
They didn’t worry if he’s a little undersized; people are making way -
Jeff Paterson: Finally, the Canucks are offensive — in a good way
via theprovince.com
For a team coming off a disastrous season in which they ranked 29th in the National Hockey League in offence, the Vancouver Canucks stuck to their game plan in the early rounds of this weekend’s draft in Chicago. And for that they should be saluted. The Canucks appear to have gone to the Windy City with the realization they needed scorers in abundance. And wouldn’t you know it, it looks like they found a bunch.
