It sleeps 38, the patio is huge, is admittedly a fixer-upper, but the sticker says it’s only $299,000.
“That’s all in,” realtor Judy Ross said.
The 151 Water Street, a converted 152-foot minesweeper that is now a live-aboard ship, is for sale, much as that saddens owner Mike Fournier.
“Yes, I will miss it, immensely,” said Fournier, who, approaching 60, is only three years younger than the boat itself.

via theprovince.com
Between high school graduation and a visit to Indiana University, it’s been a busy few days for Mary Parsons of Delta.
At a time of reflection and celebration for accomplishing one of life’s many milestones, Parsons also had a glimpse into her future. Graduating from St. Thomas More Collegiate in Burnaby, she returned Thursday morning from a trip to Indiana, where she met other freshman athletes about to enter the Hoosiers’ athletics program.

In their battle for RWC spot, losing might lead to a better path for Canada or the USA
via theprovince.com
If the prize is a spot in the pool of death, is it really a prize at all?
The winner of the Canada vs. USA Rugby World Cup qualifying series will find themselves in a pool with France, England, Argentina and Oceania 2. The loser will playoff with Uruguay for a spot in a pool with Australia, Georgia and the winner of the Oceania series.
Lose there, and it’s off to a globe repechage tournament, with the winner of the four-team event landing in a pool with New Zealand, South Africa, Italy and -

Back to the future for Canada in Rugby World Cup showdown with US
via theprovince.com
Canada coach Mark Anscombe is dialling back to 2011 as he aims for 2019.
Saying his midfield needed more punch, he’s picked DTH van der Merwe at outside centre for Saturday’s first leg of the North American Rugby World Cup qualifying series at Tim Hortons Field in Hamilton (12 p.m. PT, TSN).
That’s never been the Canadian’s star favourite position, but Anscombe indicated it was a selection very much about who he wanted to get on the field.

Nerwinski helping to fill defensive void as Whitecaps prepare to visit Minnesota

Jake Nerwinski didn’t want his chance to come about this way.
The rookie defender for the Vancouver Whitecaps earned two starts during the club’s busy early schedule before settling in on the bench for head coach Carl Robinson, patiently waiting his turn while learning the ropes of the professional game.

'I'm in trouble': A harrowing story from the heart
via vancouversun.com
I was washing the dog on Monday, May 1, when I suddenly felt light-headed and vaguely nauseous, then began to sweat profusely. I sat down on the edge of the tub. I knew something was wrong, but being a guy — and therefore stupid — I sat for five minutes on the bathtub and waited for the feeling to go away.
It didn’t.
So I stood up, told my wife my symptoms, and she said she was driving me to Emergency at Delta Hospital.
I walked up to the ER registration desk, produced my beat- -

Monet’s magical Giverny garden lilies land in Vancouver
via vancouversun.com
Claude Monet loved tulips and rhododendrons.
To create his perfect painting environment, he designed a garden filled with them as well as beds of zinnias and asters. He planted irises and bamboo, filled a pool with water lilies and framed it with weeping willows. He added a Japanese bridge covered in wisteria so he could look from a height onto his garden at Giverny, 64 kilometres northwest of Paris on the Seine River.
Monet planned his famous garden so it would produce colour from spring to aut -

via vancouversun.com
I’ve just returned from the land of Viking burial sites, Tuborg beer and the Borgen TV series — so, of course, I’ve also become an expert on “hygge.”
The Danish word “hygge,” as everyone exposed to global trends is aware, describes everything associated with cosiness, intimacy and togetherness.
Pronounced “hoo-gah,” this quality of well being, comfort and safety is the subject of more than a dozen recent books, many of which are on bestseller -

On Thursday, the 41st Parliament of the B.C. Legislature opened with the election of a Speaker and the reading of Premier Christy Clark’s throne speech.
Liberal MLA Steve Thomson was named the Speaker, having been the only candidate to put his name forward. The leaders of all three parties praised his appointment.

Letters: Transit-fare hikes capitalist attack on ‘marginalized people,’ reader argues
via theprovince.com
Transit-users facing a fare hike July 1 are often unemployed, low-wage earners, students, seniors or people with disabilities. They’ll soon have to pay more for what, it could be argued, is an essential service. This is capitalism at its finest, creating a class gap through mobility and taking more from indi -
