Christy Clark may not have enough seats to win a confidence vote, but she won’t resign without a fight.
Clark told reporters Tuesday she would test the confidence of the legislature rather than simply giving up her post as premier. That test will come as early as next month, she said.
“We have a duty to meet the house and to test its confidence. Constitutional conventions tells us that and I intend to do that in very short order,” she said.

Ed Willes: Manny’s all business, lip-schtick aside
via theprovince.com
There is a perception among some members of the B.C. Lions that Manny Arceneaux is the favoured child of head coach Wally Buono; that the 29-year-old Louisianan and the 67-year-old CFL lifer share a deep bond which transcends the game.
Arceneaux finds this notion amusing.
“I don’t even like talking to him sometimes,” Arceneaux says. “I call him Socrates because he has his own way with words. He asks me, ‘What’s today?’ I say, ‘Monday.’ & -

B.C. Lions: No Adam Bighill and Ryan Phillips on defence? No problem

KAMLOOPS — Mark Washington’s ears are ringing a little less than usual at B.C. Lions’ training camp.
The club’s defensive co-ordinator has been steadily implementing his systems this week, but there are two big holes — not to mention big personalities — missing from the group with the off-season departures of linebacker Adam Bighill and defensive back Ryan Phillips.

Wine Guy: Rollicking Roussanne
via theprovince.com
It’s time to look askew for a new white wine perspective. The reality is that when it comes to white wines, the majority pretty much sip through the lens of Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay. Sure, maybe some of us dabble in Riesling and Pinot Gris/Grigio, but overall we’re barely dipping into the shallow end of the white wine pool. Roussanne, for example, is a notable (if often overlooked) grape that happens to make a great grilling partner.
