  WASHINGTON, Jan. 13, 2018 — U.S. Pacific Command has detected no ballistic missile threat to Hawaii, Pacom officials said in a statement today after Hawaii residents received an emergency notification at 8:07 a.m. local time – 1:07 p.m. EST — warning of an inbound ballistic missile threat and urging them to seek shelter.

  THUNDER BAY – NEWS – Thunder Bay is in the running for the dubious title of Murder Capital of Canada again. Thunder Bay, Ont., with a rate of 5.8 homicides per 100,000 population. The national average in Canada in 2016 was 1.68 homicides per 100,000 population.
  The official statistics will come out later in 2018, but it appears that Thunder Bay could once again top the list in Canada.

  TORONTO – The Lakehead Thunderwolves were edged 5-4 by the York Lions in an overtime shootout at the Canlan Ice Sports Arena in North York on Friday night.
  After a scoreless first period, the floodgates opened in a wild second stanza beginning with Ben Verrall’s wrister that sailed past Lakehead goalie Nic Renyard to put York up 1-0.

  London ON – The Lakehead women’s basketball team (9-4) had a big win over Western (7-6) tonight, 73-54, in London, ON.The Thunderwolves came out in the first quarter, pushing the pace and hitting shots, establishing a solid 24-12 lead after the first quarter.The Wolves went on a 12-0 run in the second quarter that gave Lakehead a 41-25 lead at the half.
