THUNDER BAY – Time of Report 16:20 – Warmer weather is expected to add to the fire hazard across the region over the coming days.
Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry report, there were three new fires confirmed by the afternoon of July 24 in the Northwest Region but reports are being investigated at the time of this update.
One fire of note in the region is Nipigon Fire Number 009 which is located in the far north. This lightning-caused fire is just over 13

THUNDER BAY – With eight homicides in 2016, Thunder Bay recorded the highest homicide rate among the CMAs (6.64 homicides per 100,000 population).
