  • Tuesday's letters: Keep polling; change electoral system

Re. “It’s tIme to Improve our poll lIteracy,” Keith Gerein, April 13
Polling results will have an effect on how Albertans vote. We Albertans tend to be lazy political shoppers. Most voters don’t do the research to determine which parties’ platforms align with their values and principles or would move the province forward.
Some Albertans vote their brand; others vote with their heart, not their head. Yet, many voters rely on polls directly or indirectly through media

  • Review: Sharing the spotlight, Canadian crooner Michael Bublé charms Rogers Place

When Michael Bublé hears the word romance, he thinks of hockey arenas.
The wry zinger, one of many comedic asides that the neo-swing singer dropped during his concert at Rogers Place last night, was actually quite apt. At this point in his career Bublé is well beyond playing small, intimate venues, which makes his ability to turn a 20,000-seat arena into just that all the more impressive. Well, maybe not romantic and intimate; how about lightly flirtatious?

  • Opinion: Curbing methane emissions packs a punch so why are we waiting?

A recent study by the Canadian Energy Research Institute (CERI) shows that many methane-reduction opportunities in the oil and gas sector are practical, available and cost-effective. In many cases, they are paid for by the value of natural gas saved, or even generate a profit. These results echo what the environmental community has consistently found in its research, underscoring the position that reducing methane in Canada’s oil and gas sector is one of the most cost-effective climate mea
