    One person was killed and two were injured after an early morning shooting at a Whyte Avenue hookah lounge.
    Investigators were on scene Sunday morning at Xhale Lounge, 8120 101 St. NW. Police had cordoned off the block around the lounge, which had what appeared to be three bullet holes in the front window. Medical examiners later removed a covered body from the lounge on a gurney.

    One person is dead as Edmonton police investigate outside a Whyte Avenue hookah bar Sunday.
    Edmonton police spokesperson Cheryl Sheppard confirmed one person has died. No further details were given.

  • Two taken to hospital after police respond to gunshots in downtown Edmonton

    A man and a woman were taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries after city police responded to reports of gunshots Saturday morning.
    Edmonton police went to a residence in the area of 95 Street and 106A Avenue shortly before 7 a.m., said watch commander Lance Parker.
    A neighbour told Postmedia they heard the gunshots followed by a vehicle speeding away from the area.
    Detectives with the EPS downtown division are investigating.
    Parker said police do not have anyone in custody.
