Bernard Hancock — aka Bernard the Roughneck — was nominated as the party’s candidate in Grande Prairie.
Hancock told Postmedia he doesn’t want to keep sitting on the sidelines complaining about how bad politicians are, and wants instead to offer something better.

  • "WE NEED SKILL" — Bob Nicholson says some, but not enough, of the right things at Oilers' season ticket holder event

Game Day 74: Blue Jackets at Oilers
It’s the First Game Of Spring, and the very fact that my Game Day post will only be marginally about the game itself tells its own tale. It’s a huge contest for one of the teams involved, the visiting Columbus Blue Jackets, but for your Edmonton Oilers it’s a typical game at this time of year, where a win would be fun but much likelier to make a negative impact on draft position than a positive one on actual playoff contention. Mixed emotions
  • Dining Out: Artisti Pizzeria ranks among Edmonton's best with extensive menu, authentic taste

Well, yes, we have our culinary weak spots in Ourtown, to be sure. But let it be shouted from the roofs of our modest villas that pizza is decidedly not among them. The ancient among us will recall the dark days of gloppy, grotesquely over-topped, thick crust corporate- or wannabe-corporate pies that once held sway in the prairies, with very few (gods bless Tony’s) exceptions.
Today, Edmonton punches beyond its weight class in that sunny realm, sporting dozens of worthy purveyors of pizzas

On the surface, it’s an odd but true story about how a drag queen helped save a shoe factory from going out of business, but a couple of things are quickly apparent when you delve deeper into the creation of Kinky Boots, the Tony, Grammy and Olivier award-winning Broadway musical that’s set to hit Edmonton this weekend.

Rick Springfield is something of a restless soul.

  • Wine column: Alsace region wines benefit from ideal grape-growing climate

It finally feels like spring, signaling time to stock up on whites. Alsace, located in the northeastern corner of France, is not on everyone’s radar but it produces some of the best white wines in the world. • Thursday's letters: Kenney's pay gap unfairly targets teens

I am not voting on April 16. It is not because I am making a statement or that I am politically uninformed but simply because I am too young.
I find it appalling that Jason Kenney with his new minimum wage policy is taking aim at a group that does not have the ability to take to the polls to show their disapproval for this outrageous suggestion.
Why are teenagers being treated as second-class citizens? Why do we deserve to be paid less for the same job? Kenney is creating a pay gap. The argument

Extensive research on children’s development confirms that the first five years are critical for healthy development, including brain growth.

The lack of opportunities for fuller development starting in the early years increases the probability of later issues related to mental health and learning capacity, and makes for greater vulnerability to addictions a
