• Man's body found near Wetaskiwin, major crimes unit investigating

    Major crimes investigators are looking into the death of a man whose body was found in a rural area near Wetaskiwin.
    The body of the middle aged man was discovered near Range Road 243A and Township Road 473.
    RCMP were called to the area at about 1 a.m. Sunday. One of the Mounties’ major crimes units has been called in to help with the investigation. However, the death has not yet been deemed suspicious.

  • Police arrest suspect after person found dead in Westmount apartment building

    A man is in police custody after a body was found in a Westmount apartment building Saturday evening.
    Police were called to the building at 110 Avenue and 124 Street at about 7:30 p.m. after someone called about a “disturbance.”
    Officers found a man dead at the address. A male suspect, whose age was not given, was found in the area with non-life-threatening injuries. He was taken to hospital by ambulance crews.
    There was only a small police presence in the area by 8:30 Sunday morning
