• Salvation Army Kettle campaign goes 'high-tech' with debit, credit card donations accepted at 15 Edmonton locations

  After falling just short of the fundraising goal last holiday season, Edmonton’s Salvation Army Kettle Campaign is adding a cashless way to donate in hopes of reaching its increased target of $550,000.
  This year’s campaign launched across the city at 22 locations Nov. 12, including 15 locations that now have point of sale terminals to accept donations by debit and credit card.

  Edmonton Humane Society staff are trying to locate the owner of a dog they say was found inside a garbage bag enclosed in a cardboard box in the city’s northwest earlier this month.

  An Alberta teacher lost her right to teach Monday after being found guilty of humiliating and disdainful conduct toward her students.

• Teen killed in single-vehicle rollover near Ponoka

  Mounties are still trying to determine all the factors leading up to the death of a 17-year-old teenage boy Sunday near Ponoka.
  Officers arrived at the single-vehicle rollover on Highway 2A near Township Road 422 just after 9 p.m. to find a vehicle had left the road and rolled several times.

  A man is facing charges including impaired operation of a motor vehicle causing death after a 21-year-old Cadotte Lake resident died in the township last week.
  Mounties were called to the northern Alberta hamlet in the early hours of Nov. 23 for a report of a hit and run on Highway 986.
