    Possession and the licensed retail sale of cannabis are legal in Canada, but hauling a bunch in your vehicle is still frowned upon.
    Two people have been charged with trafficking after an Oct. 11 traffic stop by Jasper Mounties uncovered 10 kilograms of marijuana and 750 grams of cannabis resin.
    The contraband was found after officers stopped a “vehicle for an offence under the vehicle equipment regulations,” RCMP said in a press release Monday.

  • Suspect treated in Edmonton after RCMP open fire during Maskwacis gun call

    One person is being treated for gunshot injuries in Edmonton after RCMP responding to a gun call in Maskwacis opened fire.
    RCMP were called to a “shots fired” complaint on Samson First Nation just after midnight Monday. Two officers on foot searching the area encountered two suspects before the police weapon was discharged, said RCMP in a Monday news release.
