    A male motorcyclist is dead and his female passenger is fighting for her life after a collision at 75 Street and 101 Avenue early Sunday.
    Debris littered the intersection as investigators worked to learn what happened. The car, which police believe was southbound turning east onto 101 Avenue, was flipped around pointing west. The rear passenger side tire had been torn away. A blue and grey helmet lay about 100 feet from the motorcycle a couple hours after the crash.

  • Motorcyclist killed in crash near Wayne Gretzky Drive

    A male motorcyclist is dead and his female passenger is fighting for her life after a collision at 75 Street and 101 Avenue.
    The crash happened at around 7 a.m. Sunday morning.
    Police are still investigating what happened, but believe a Mercury Marquis southbound on Wayne Gretzky Drive hit the northbound motorcyclist while turning eastbound onto 101 Avenue.

    Edmonton city police are getting to their calls on time more often than not, but overall response times are creeping upward and citizens appear to be noticing. 
    Officers responded to 166,000 urgent calls for service in 2017, according to a semi-annual report to the Edmonton Police Commission Thursday.

    Environment Canada is calling for another possible thunderstorm in Edmonton Saturday night after one swept through the city in the early afternoon and another tore through trees Friday evening.

    Edmonton’s cycling community responded quickly to get a competitive youth cycling team from Malaysia back on the track after their bikes and equipment were stolen from the Argyll Velodrome.
