  The city’s food bank is looking for volunteers for its largest fundraising drive of the year in conjunction with the Heritage Festival.

  An Edmonton Remand Centre correctional officer will lose one year’s salary and his termination was upheld by a judge who overturned an earlier decision by an arbitrator.
  Todd Ross was fired from his job as a guard at the Edmonton jail in 2015 after his employer found he was dishonest during an internal investigation looking into a video leaked to CTV Edmonton showing a jailhouse assault on a correctional officer by an inmate, as well over allegations he had tampered with the investigation.

  Some sad news from Complete Hockey News, a report that Vaclav Burda, the chief European scout of the Edmonton Oilers, has died from a car collision.
  According to the lidovky.cz website, the bronze medalist from the 1998 World Cup crashed head-to-head with a truck. The accident happened on the road between Hodonín and Břeclav.
