  • Milan Lucic not fight enough? Not hustle enough? No, that wasn't the issue in his slump

The other day my colleague Bruce McCurdy was joking with me about the number of posts I’ve written on the troubles and turmoil around Milan Lucic. McCurdy suggested it was something like 27, Lucic’s number.
In fact, the number is 11 posts with Lucic in the headline, which is indeed a lot.
That said, I make no apologies. I’ve been fascinated by a number of major mysteries around Lucic, first whether or not he’ll be traded and for what, second, just what went wrong with Luc

  • Thursday's letters: Flair Airline's move to Edmonton a good sign

There wasn’t much excitement surrounding the announcement last month of Flair Airline’s head office relocation to Edmonton.
Eight years ago, the closure of the municipal airport was supposed to improve our region’s air service through consolidation, provide a once-in-a-lifetime real estate development opportunity in the heart of our city, and facilitate densification in our core with higher towers. Only the last promise has been fulfilled.

  • Editorial: Time for governments to look at other options once Greyhound service ends

Greyhound buses have roamed Western Canada for almost 90 years, carrying people and freight between communities that often had few other good options for getting around.
But with the company’s plan to end all service Oct. 31 in Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba and B.C. (except for a run between Vancouver and Seattle), its long-distance coaches appear set to join such vanishing prairie icons as passenger trains and grain elevators.
Many travellers have fond memories of Greyhound trips, wheth
