• Seasonal parking ban declared as collisions continue to pile up

A seasonal parking ban will be put in place Saturday night as city crews work to clean up the mess left by heavy snowfall that began Friday.
The ban is effective at 11:59 p.m. Saturday and will remain in place until the city declares it over.
“More than 200 graders will be on duty as of midnight Saturday, and by Sunday evening front-end loaders will be clearing lanes,” said Janet Tecklenborg, the city’s director of infrastructure operations, in a Saturday news release.

  • Edmonton weather: Snow ending around noon, but watch out for that wind

Edmontonians woke up Saturday to another blast of winter weather as a fresh layer of snow blanketed the city overnight.
Environment Canada says periods of snow will continue throughout the morning before clearing around noon. However, there’s little reprieve as temperatures are expected to hover around the -18 C mark with winds gusting from 20 km/h to 40 km/h contributing to a -30 wind chill.
Winds are expected to continue overnight as the temperature dips to -24 C with a -32 wind chill.

  • Saturday's letters: Boycott B.C. wine, fruit and vacations

A while back I found a nice Riesling wine from the south Okanagan, but I will never buy it again. Neither will I purchase fruit, vegetables, fish, dairy products or any other goods from B.C. businesses.
I check very closely for product origin. We were to vacation in the Sunshine Coast this summer, but not now. I have my whole family (several households) involved in this tactic. I preach this strategy daily.

But will Chiarelli keep him this time?
The future roster of the Edmonton Oilers is partly decided because of long-term contracts, but the final 32 games of this disappointing 2017-18 season will also give us some answers.
Is Ryan Strome worth qualifying at his current price? Where does Jujhar Khaira fit? Drake Caggiula? Can the Oilers really count on Jesse Puljujarvi on a top line next year? Is Andrej Sekera finally trending up and ready for Top 4 action next year? How long and for how muc
