  • Man found dead after shooting in Lac La Biche

    A man is dead after shots were fired in Lac La Biche early Saturday morning.
    Lac La Biche RCMP were called to the scene at 10408 102 Ave. in Lac La Biche around 4:30 a.m. Saturday after reports of gunfire in the residential neighbourhood.
    When officers arrived, they found a man suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.
    Michael Mountain, 26, was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead.

  • Townhouses evacuated after fire in west Edmonton

    Smoke and flames billowed from a townhouse complex as fire crews arrived near 101 Avenue and 143 Street just after 6 p.m. on Saturday.
    Edmonton Fire Rescue Services saw flames and smoke coming from the roof of a three-unit building when the arrived on scene after a call at 6:03 p.m., according to spokeswoman Claire Harvey in an interview on Saturday.
