  • 'I’m not happy': Rocky start for Oilers' Cam Talbot

There were a lot of question marks and potential soft spots in the Oilers lineup this year, but one guy they didn’t think they’d have to worry about is Cam Talbot.
And after only four games, nobody is really worried.
But they can’t ignore the obvious, either.
It’s been a rocky start for both the starting goalie and the slumping Oilers. After an opening night shutout against Calgary, the guy they leaned on so heavily last season has given up 12 goals and been hooked twice

  • Yamamoto hoping to make nine-game deadline

As much as he tries not to think of it, Kailer Yamamoto can’t help but think about it.
Nine games. The deadline still hangs over him, the prospect of being sent back to Junior is still very real.
Yes, he had a great training camp and earned a spot on the Edmonton Oilers right wing based on skill, determination and merit. But, as everyone knew, the regular season is a different animal and the audition is a long way from over.
The decision has now shifted to whether or not to keep him past n

  • FC Edmonton playoff hopes die with tie in New York

Under normal circumstances, a tie on the road against the two-time defending North American Soccer League champions would be welcomed by FC Edmonton.
But needing a win to keep their faint playoff hopes alive, the 0-0 draw with the New York Cosmos wasn’t enough for Edmonton.
The tie left Edmonton 13 points out of top spot in the Fall Season standings, with only 12 available in their four remaining games.
