    An Edmonton couple has won $1 million on a Lotto 6/49 Guaranteed Prize Draw.
    Joseph Nsiah and Jean Taylor purchased their winning ticket from a 7-Eleven at 2803 Mill Woods Rd. on June 14, the Alberta Gaming and Liquor Commission and Western Canada Lottery Corp. (WCLC) announced Friday. 
    “I checked the ticket on the WCLC mobile app and then called my wife,” Nsiah said in a news release. “I told her we won $1 million, but she didn’t believe me.”

    A person has been charged after an eight-month-old baby girl was left in a hot car Thursday night.
    Police were called after the baby was seen in a parked car near 55 Street and 167 Avenue around 8:30 p.m. Thursday, hours after Environment Canada issued numerous heat warnings across Alberta. In Edmonton, the temperature hovered around 24 C at the time of the call.
