Old Stone House opens
The Ermatinger-Clergue National Historic Site opened on Tuesday, June 23, but visitors were asked to bring masks and gloves.
A media release from the city explained the use of protective equipment as for the personal safety of visitors and to protect the exhibits. Barriers in museum rooms will prevent the use of interactive and high-touch areas.
Museum visitors are asked to keep physical distancing of at least two metres and visitor flow will be managed accordingly, the release says.

Sault residents can win Canada Day prizes
The city sweetened the Canada Day pot with the promise of a draw for prizes for participants in this year’s virtual event.

Pointe des Chenes campground, beach and day-park opened last Friday, June 19.
Campers must observe social gathering restrictions of 10 people and two-metre distancing with those outside their households and when outside their campsites, says a media release from City of Sault Ste. Marie.

Pandemic takes its toll on local funerals and weddings
When the COVID-19 pandemic first hit Ontario, the provincial government placed a limit on the number of people who could attend funeral and wedding ceremonies, allowing only 10 people in a ceremony.
