    Officials in Sault Ste. Marie were shocked to receive notice late Monday that the Ontario government plans to amalgamate 59 local ambulance services into 10.

    A number of city facilities and services will operate holiday hours this weekend throughout the Easter period.
    Closed city operations From Good Friday, April 19, through Easter Monday, April 22 include: The cemetery office, Civic Centre, GFL Memorial Gardens administration office and the Transit office.

    Clean drinking water is coming to Batchewana First Nation.
    Sault MP Terry Sheehan announced Tuesday that Indigenous Services Canada is providing $320,000 in grants for Batchewana First Nations to move forward to a design phase for a new water treatment plant.
    Once completed, the new plant will provide clean water to nearly 200 community members.
