• Play rehearsal in progress when part of roof collapsed

    ELLIOT LAKE — Murray Finn and a few other members of the Elliot Lake Amateur Theatre Ensemble (ELATE) were in the Lester B. Pearson Civic Centre when the partial roof collapse occurred Thursday evening.
    Finn says they were starting a dress rehearsal of a play they have been working on since before Christmas, entitled Shorthanded.
    Finn says they were three in the theatre itself, while others were in another part of the building when the collapse occurred.
