Three years after filing for bankruptcy protection, Sault Ste. Marie’s steelmaker has emerged with a new lease on life.
“The cloud has lifted,” said Algoma Steel Inc. president and CEO Kalyan Ghosh.
Late Friday, the company announced that the purchase agreement for the steelmaker has been completed and the business, now to be called Algoma Steel Inc., emerges from CCAA as a stronger, more sustainable Canadian steel company.
