Hunt on for life-saving stem cells
After her sister received a diagnosis everyone fears, local nurse Sandra Turner has started fighting to get as many people as possible to register as stem cell donors.
Turner’s efforts began in September when her sister Karen was diagnosed with leukemia.

Toystock makes a haul for Christmas Cheer
Kerry Simpson and her husband Greg counted the seventh annual Toystock another success.
She and Greg have hosted and co-ordinated the event since its beginning in 2011.
The family event was held at Grand Gardens North on Sunday, from noon to 10 p.m. and showcased 10 local bands along with a photo booth, airbrushed tattoos, a sit down with Santa, Mrs. Claus and a few of their elves. Refugee program short on volunteers
Sault Community Career Centre is in dire need of more volunteers to work with incoming refugee families.
Right now, several refugee families are scheduled to arrive in the Sault before the end of December, so volunteers are needed to help them settle into their new homes.
